Excited to announce we have a vacancy for a Workshop Assistant through Universal Credit's Kickstart programme. If your aged between 18-24, on universal credit, then please contact your work coach for a referral.

No experience necessary, passion and commitment a must.

Rare opportunity to join a small team of craftspeople making displays and mounts for museums and art galleries, working directly with historical and important items. The successful candidate will be trained to assist in the production of bespoke display mounts, from design to installation. Mainly working with acrylic, but also metal and woodwork. Using: circular bench saw, milling machine and lathe plus a variety of hand and power tools. They will be taught to interpret technical drawing and convert these into products within a timeframe.

They must be able to work independently as well as alongside team members, maintain workshop cleanliness and follow health and safety procedures. Onsite work and travel may be necessary on occasion.

Any experience within a workshop or design environment would be advantages, and an interest in engineering and the arts, however we are more concern with applicants that share our passion and drive and are looking to a build a career.

Depending on the progress of the candidate and our workflow there may be the chance of extending this employment and scope for additional hours.
