This month the honour went to what may look like a spaceship meets cake stand, but this well engineered acrylic fabrication represents parts of a scientific instrument used to rapidly cool items inside a laboratory. The centre of the Perspex discs has been machined out for the client to place in one of the original parts, by using Perspex it is shown off without the other parts blocking the view, while still representing the overall instruments true appearance. We have used solid acrylic sheet and acrylic rods, as well as stainless steel dowels allowing the mount to be taken down for transport.
